2030 Outlook for Energy and the Economy – new LSE report

A new report by the London School of Economics for RWE npower outlines the need for up to £330 billion investment in the UK’s energy infrastructure by 2030. Against a background of considerable economic uncertainty, it develops three scenarios for the UK’s energy future. One of these, “Hitting the target”, supports high levels of investment in the power sector and drives carbon emissions down to achieve 2030 targets. The need for clarity from policy makers on their objectives and ambitions is emphasised.
