Provides a detailed overview of the 2007 EWP, including the Government’s key long term challenges of tackling climate change, whilst ensuring secure, clean and affordable energy. The context of the challenge is set out in respect to the climate challenge from a global and UK perspective, and the security of supply challenge in terms of import dependency and investment needs. These provide a framework for the 2007 EWP in terms of the principles and actions within it, based around saving energy, developing cleaner energy supplies and securing reliable supplies at prices set in competitive markets.
