Peter Parsons, Energy Supply Manager at the National Grid was one of the speakers at the BIEE’s annual Gas Seminar on October 10th where he presented the National Grid’s Winter Outlook for supply and demand in the UK published on October 4th . Particpants also heard the assessment of prospects for natural gas from a leading energy trader , and presentations on the nature and impact of short and long term changes in demand for natural gas. Driven largely by increasing availability of shale gas, especially in North America, most commentators see future growth in global gas demand. The event also examined the underlying nature of that growth in terms of changes in uses for natural gas, such as in chemicals and road transport.
